Message from the President:
Wikipedia describes success as an achievement of an
objective or goal. Successful is how the Executive Board and I would describe
this years Spring Workshop. By all accounts, we set a record for attendance and
I have heard nothing but positive comments about our speaker and the program he
presented. We would like to thank everyone who helped us achieve our goals. I
would like to say a special thank you to Sharon Shannon for
spearheading our Spring Workshop, acquiring our speaker and taking care of the
logistics. I would also like to thank David Mixson and his crew for continuing
their tradition of preparing us a great lunch.
With your help we will carry the success of our Spring Workshop into our 61st
Annual Study Conference. Keeping with our theme “Criminal Justice 101 – Back to
Basics” our conference will return to Montgomery this year. It has been over 20
years since we met in Montgomery and it i
s
our hope that we will attract some new attendees and renew interest in some of
our former members.
All of our committees are working tirelessly to bring you a conference that
will be second to none. Everything is being planned with you
in mind. We will have a great program and a few special
surprises. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join a committee
(it is never too late) and take an active role in what is sure to be an
“exciting educational experience”.
I look forward to seeing you in October!
Gwen Mosley, 2009 President
This year's Conference will be held at the Montgomery Renaissance Convention Center on October 14, 2009 - October 16, 2009. Committees are working diligently on developing an informative and enjoyable Study Conference.
